Senior Thesis Title: Stop, Breathe, Listen: Eastern Discipline for the Western World
Senior Thesis Statement: America is asleep. Through meditation we can WAKE UP.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis: Pain is a part of life. In response to the pain, there is either fight or flight response, but I propose there is a third response, to understand it. Americans, in particular, are dreamers, but there is so much more depth to reality than the false realities we create. Meditative methods can remove the false realities that we have created within our own minds by better understanding the present without judgement (as we are frequently inclined to do).
Post Graduation Plans: To attend the University of Mississippi and study business
What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster? Westminster was a struggle for me, but it is through that struggle that God has shown me beauty and love. So don’t give up, the struggle is worth the reward. In a painting, without the darkness, there is no context for the depth of light.
Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster: The Fall of 2022 “Ranch Incident”
Favorite Bible Verse: “What has been is what will be,and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
Prayer Request: Please pray that I would find Christian community and set healthy habits in this new phase of life.
