Senior Thesis Title: The Rhetoric of The Church Building
Senior Thesis Statement: Christians need to employ their God given creativity in order to make their church use its physical structure to inform and guide the spiritual journey, not cater to physical needs before the spiritual.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis: The Church has always been changing the building in which it worships and with the explosion of different denominations of recent centuries, churches are finding new ways to structure their buildings. Some of these methods can actually be harmful for the growth and well being of the church and this thesis focuses mostly on the problems of the megachurch philosophy in regards to design. This is not a condemnation of the megachurch, but a critique of particular churches who fall into these patterns.
Post Graduation Plans: To study architecture at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville
