WA Students Attend Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta

Students from Westminster Academy recently traveled to Atlanta to participate in the Junior Theatre Festival. Eight grader Payton Jenkins and seventh grader Camille Smith went on the trip as part of their involvement in Stage Door Productions, a non-profit children’s theatre company in Memphis. At the festival, the Memphis-based group did a showcase performance of Shrek Jr. in front of an audience of peers, industry professionals, and members of the theatre community from around the country.

“To me, the Junior Theatre Festival is like Disney World, but for theater kids,” said Camille Smith. “It is a great experience because you learn from other theatre groups, and it is a great way to get inspiration and new ideas.” Bravo, ladies! We look forward to seeing you perform locally soon.
