For the next few weeks, Rev. Dillon’s 10th grade Theology class is addressing the question, who was the historical Jesus? In particular, we are examining various false portraits of Jesus put forward by modern scholars, and where they go wrong. This week we discussed the “Christ-Myth Theory.” which claims that Jesus never even existed. Rather, the theory goes, the early Christian ripped off various pagan myths that had existed for hundreds of years and wove them into the story we now know as the gospel.
