Senior Spotlight: Jennie Statom

Favorite Subject: Choir

Favorite book read at WA: A Tale of Two Cities

Favorite WA tradition:
I have always looked forward to the third grade Olympics because it connects the whole school. I remember looking forward to meeting my 10th grade chariot partner as a third grader but I also remember having so much fun setting up my chariot with the third graders as a tenth grader.

What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster? Do your best in whatever you do. “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬

Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster:
The entire choir trip to Universal Studios was great, but a highlight was when Mr. Brown met the Victory Belles.

Senior Thesis Title:  How dress affects identity

Senior Thesis Statement: Women dress in provocative ways to prove to the world that they are something that they may not actually be.

Brief Description of Senior Thesis: The way women dress affects the way others see them and how they see themselves. Dressing in provocative ways causes women to think lowly of themselves and become more desperate for attention. However, dressing in a modest way provides personality and dignity.

Plans: To major in Art, but I am undecided on where

Favorite Bible Verse:  “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer Request: That I will find my place in the world and continue to strive to do everything for God’s glory.
