What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster?

Enjoy the unique small community that we have at Westminster and take advantages of the opportunities that you have here. Westminster is unlike any other school that you will be at, and it has so many traditions that you won’t find anywhere except here. Embrace the present  where you are in life right now! Also, don’t wait until the night before to study for Mr. Kinney’s tests.

Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster:

My favorite memory from Westminster is probably when I was a sophomore, and we were having protocol dance lessons. We were learning the polka that day, and they didn’t explain it a whole lot and just kind of threw the younger students in with the juniors and seniors. Once the music started there was so much chaos that I definitely was not prepared for, and we were all just flying around the gym and had so much fun just dancing around with all of my friends.

My other favorite memories are from trial mock week throughout high school when sleep deprivation would set in, and everything that happened was ten times funnier than it actually was, and the mock trial team was just trying to make it through the week and enjoying being together.

Favorite Bible Verse:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39

Prayer Request:

It’s nerve-racking going to college already but especially being six hours from home, so I would appreciate prayer for the transition into college and just with all the uncertainties that lie ahead, particularly in regards to covid. All of the seniors are preparing for this change and next chapter so please be praying for all of us.
