Youth In Government Delegates Earn Honors at Conference

Westminster Academy recently sent a delegation of eleven students (grades 9-12) to the YMCA Youth in Government (YIG) conference on April 6-9 in Nashville. Three of the students, Emily Jordan, Catherine Vickery, and Jake Hickman, served as officers at the conference. The Westminster delegation submitted four bills, and did an excellent job presenting and defending them. The bill written by WA students Max Baker and Jack Keith was awarded with the designation of Outstanding Bill at the end of the conference.

In addition, Jake Hickman was selected to represent the state of Tennessee at the Conference on National Affairs for the second year in a row, an honor bestowed upon only twenty-five students from across Tennessee. Congratulations to the entire Westminster Academy YIG delegation for a job well done!
