Into the Woods – with art from WA Graduate Ceci Reed

Join other Westminster families Thursday, March 10th for a night out together at Theatre Memphis. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from Elizabeth Perkins eperkins@wamemphis.com in the main office. Lights snacks and drinks will be served at 7PM in the Theatre Memphis lobby with a show start time of 7:30 PM. We will be enjoying James Lapine’s creation of “Into the Woods”,  a musical journey with an original story based on several Brothers Grimm fairy tales. With music by Stephen Sondheim, hear the tale of a childless baker and his wife on a mission to begin a family only by breaking a Witch’s curse. Their travels bring them to interact with characters from “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack & The Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel,” “Cinderella,” and more. A delightful romp with a dose of reality that questions happily ever after.

Also featured will be the Memphis College of Art student exhibition, which includes the above artwork by our own Ceci Reed. Ceci is a junior illustration major at MCA and a 2013 Westminster graduate. Nine illustration students from MCA Associate Professor Michele Noiset’s Children’s Book class and Jean Holmgren’s Conceptualization & Metaphor classes have been selected to exhibit their work in this exhibition. Their work will be on view at Theatre Memphis, March 9–April 3 for the duration of show nights.
