The PAA Middle School Championship Race was a great success! The Defenders definitely worked as a team to do some amazing things, and had a blast at the meet. Westminster’s 5th and 6th grade boys team started off the night with a strong first place finish! The following 5th and 6th grade girls’ race came down to the wire, and our girls finished second by a hair’s length. Our 7th and 8th grade boys all gained personal records and fought to the end. Finally, our 7th and 8th grade girls team worked hard as a pack throughout the entire race, and came away with yet another second place finish!

The Regional Qualifier Meet on October 17, 2015 was a great opportunity for our runners. There were over 40 teams at the meet, and definitely the best competition we had faced yet. It was Fall Break for Westminster that weekend, so only four of our runners were able to attend the meet, but it was definitely a success, as three of our four runners qualified for state! Of those who qualified, Jacob Orellana placed 5th overall, Claudia Steiner placed 9th overall, and Jack Keith placed 31st overall. All of our runners either ran a personal best or second best. The team’s encouragement and hard work has been obvious.
