Dear WA Families,
I want to provide an update on two important WA Board initiatives: the headmaster search process and our land/facilities committee.
Headmaster Search:
The headmaster search process has entered an exciting phase – reviewing actual candidates. We have been blessed with significant interest from literally all across the country. We have received more than 50 inquiries about the position, including several candidates that have formally submitted paperwork. The applicant pool is impressive including current headmasters at thriving Classical Christian Schools. The Headmaster Search Committee’s task is to compare and contrast applicants with the guidance of our search firm Job Fit Matters http://jobfitmatters.com/. We expect interviews to begin later this summer and we will continue to provide updates as the process moves along. Please continue to pray that God will guide us to the leader of His choosing with clarity and unity and that He will be preparing that person even now.
School Location:
Ridgeway Baptist has been a tremendous partner to Westminster. We are truly grateful for this relationship and recently extended our lease through June 2017. At the same time, we continue to evaluate where the school should “live” long-term. To this end, the board commissioned an ad-hoc committee to explore options. This committee is chaired by board member and WA parent Jay Vaughn and includes WA graduates (Conner Walker and John Halford) a WA founder (John Dudas) and WA parent (Taylor Gray). The committee is off to a running start looking at a wide variety of options, including revisiting previous scenarios and considering brand new ideas. They are in the process of exploring new locations, as well as improvements to our current facility. We will share updates as the committee’s work progresses.
Thank you for your continued support of Westminster. Have a great summer break!
