On Friday, Mrs. Hilliard’s class went out to observe the oak tree in front of the school and read A Tree Is Nice. They made observations about the tree at the beginning of fall and will go back later to observe, charting comparisons and contrasts between the two viewings. When they came in, they used  a tree chart and the common topic of definition to help them grow in their understanding of trees.
