Buzzing Brilliance: A Recap of Westminster Academy’s 2nd-8th Grade Spelling Bee

This week, Westminster Academy hosted the annual spelling bee, showcasing the remarkable talents of students from 2nd to 8th grade. The event was a celebration of linguistic prowess, courage under pressure, and academic excellence.

2nd-4th Grade Spelling Bee: The younger participants brought their A-game to the 2nd-4th grade spelling bee, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and friendly competition. Here are the spellers who stole the spotlight:

5th-8th Grade Spelling Bee: The stakes were higher in the 5th-8th grade spelling bee, where older students displayed advanced linguistic abilities. The competition was fierce, and lasted through eleven rounds.

Carson Baker was the overall winner for the third year in a row with the word “suspiration.” He will move on to represent Westminster Academy in the regional spelling bee at the University of Memphis.
