What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster?
The days are long but the years are short, enjoy it.
Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster: In the eleventh grade, Alex and I started what is known as TL (trash locker). Over the course of the year we put around a hundred Fairlife protein bottles as well as a bunch of other trash in an empty bottom locker. We had some gnat problems because Alex liked to put orange peels in there but we got it sorted out. We didn’t get caught until someone put a cup of coffee in and it started leaking out of the bottom of the locker and Mrs. Roberts walked by and made us clean it out.
Senior Thesis Title: The Negative Effects of the Commercialization of Youth Sports
Senior Thesis Statement: The commercialization of sports has made children’s sports unhealthy for parents, athletes, and the community.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis: Pressure has been higher than ever for an athlete to perform well. NIL has taken over college and now is starting to come to high school. Parents have to spend thousands of dollars in order for their child to be able to compete against others, ruining the culture of the game.
Post Graduation Plans: Undecided on where I will attend college
Favorite Bible Verse: “Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses; and we will say no more, ‘Our God,’ to the work of our hands. In you the orphan finds mercy.” (Hosea 14:3)
Prayer Request: Prayers for guidance in college and clarity for what profession to pursue. Prayers to be surrounded by a community that will sharpen me as I sharpen others.
