What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster? Remember that there’s a whole world outside of high school, and that the trials you face now are to prepare you for thriving in the future. Learn kindness. Learn curiosity. Learn how to love as Christ first loved us.
Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster: I like to think of the 70’s pops concert as being my origin story (before doing lots of artwork inspired by Bowie). However, before the concert, the choir was told to really get into the emotional presentation of “The Long and Winding Road”. During the performance, Taylor and I both put our all into our interactions, but since we were in the front we couldn’t tell that we were the only ones doing anything. The video captures just how hilarious we looked.
Senior Thesis Title: When Conformity Goes Too Far
Senior Thesis Statement: Although there is a push within society, we cannot blindly go along with what is presented to us as acceptable. On the surface, conformity may seem like a mere subconscious occurrence, but on a deeper level, it holds the power to control and create on the basis of our preferences and satisfaction.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis: Instead of conforming to harmful trends, our goal should be to seek out what is true, good and beautiful, finding our purpose in the everlasting God and in things that uplift our souls, rather than degrade them. This way, we can develop personal balance and peace through being aware of the attack on our telos, learning how to be both cautious and confident in our beliefs.
Post Graduation Plans: To attend Savannah College of Art and Design to prepare for a career in puppetry and animatronic fabrication within the film and themed entertainment industries
Favorite Bible Verse: “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Prayer Request: That I will seize new opportunities, and that I’ll always be able to do the work that I love.
