Favorite book read at WA: My Antonia by Willa Cather
Favorite WA tradition: My favorite WA tradition is house reveal. I love how the upperclassmen get to lead the new students and 7th graders to their house. It allows for such a fun way to find out your house, and opens the door for new relationships to be built! I also love protocol dance lessons for this same reason. It makes you talk to people outside of your group and get out of your comfort zone a little!
What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster? Make it fun! Even when you are staying up crazy late cramming for that physics test, find joy in the days you have. It flies by like crazy, so soak it up! Talk to the younger kids, the teachers, and everyone in between. When it’s hard, put a smile on your face and say goodmorning to the people in the halls! Make school a little more enjoyable for you and all of those around you. Be a light of God’s love!
A funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster: One of my many fond memories from my time at Westminster is the choir trip to Dallas this year. My favorite part was getting to go and experience the rodeo. It was a lot of fun to see and to be able to sing the national anthem in front of all of the people was such a rewarding experience!
Senior Thesis Title: The reformation needed in parenting that the next generation must make
Senior Thesis Statement: Does the upcoming generation of parents need to reform the way that we raise our children? Yes. The upcoming generation of parents need to change the way that they parent their children.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis:. In the broken world that we live in, parenting children of any age is hard. I have researched the effects that certain parenting habits have on kids and the things that parents should strive to teach their kids. These key things to teach your children are to rest well, integrate their brains, and to worship the one true God.
Post Graduation Plans: I plan to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to major in child development.
Favorite Bible Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” (Proverbs 3:5-8)
Prayer Request: That I will show the love of God to those around me, even while not in the company of christians. Also for my younger siblings – that they would flourish in great ways!
