
Each year, Westminster faculty selects two students per grade to compete at
Wordsmith, a writing competition hosted by the University of Memphis. This
competition brings 200 students together from over 30 area schools. Students
were judged by grade and participated in three dashes: 120-word
(persuasive), 80-word (narrative), 40-word (descriptive), and 400-word
(expository).

Top Honors
- 7th grader Joley Turner earned the gold medal for 7th grade. Together, she and Asa Wells won the first place trophy for their grade.
- 8th graders Lilly Adams and Avery Pritchard won the third place trophy for their grade.
- 11th grader Ellie Pritchard won the silver medal for her grade; together, she and Joelle Marino earned first place for their grade.
- 12th grader Lucy Spires earned the bronze medal for her grade.
