Favorite book read at WA: As I Lay Dying
Favorite WA tradition:
Protocol. It’s just so much fun to spend the whole night laughing and dancing with friends.
What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster?
To have macro-patience and not worry so much about what is coming later in the week, month or year, but to focus on the present and have as much fun as you possibly can every day. Losing focus on whats going on in the moment can lead to stress and complaining that doesnt help anyone. Stay focused on what matters in the moment and enjoy it.
Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster:
Going to St. Louis with the cross country team, racing a tough course, and then getting to all hang out at the City Museum. Some of the best memories I have from WA come from the XC team and they are some of my favorite people in the world.
Senior Thesis Title:
The Art of Forgiveness
Senior Thesis Statement:
Forgiveness is very necessary in our fallen society because it is a foundation for virtue, it is foundational to relationships, and is fundamental to Christian living.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis:
My senior thesis seeks to bring to light not just the importance of forgiveness as a moral tool, but as an action that our sovereign Lord uses to reconcile us to him and lets us reconcile ourselves with one another.
Plans:
To attend University of Tennessee at Knoxville where I hope to major in English and then apply to Law school
Favorite Bible Verse:
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-7
Prayer Request:
Please pray that I would be able to manage my time in college well and to also stay focused on my work. Please also pray that I would make wise decisions concerning my future so that I can stay on a path that honors God.
