Favorite book read at WA: As I Lay Dying

Favorite WA tradition:
Assemblies- I truly believe that WA assemblies are an unparalleled experience and something completely unanticipated always happens. I will miss them when I get to college.

What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster?
Don’t limit yourself to one group: get close with your class and try to really know everyone around you. A tightly knit class will make the worst of times something to connect over and the best of times something to share. The people you barely know now may end up being the people you’ll miss the most, so make the most of your time with them.
Also, make your own fun. It’s part of going to WA.

Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster:
Jogging in a line through downtown New Orleans during the French Quarter Festival in our choir uniforms.

Senior Thesis Title:
Exterminating the Rat Race

Senior Thesis Statement:
In order to escape the aimlessness and monotony that so often accompanies modern life, the worker must recognize the relationship between labor and creativity.

Brief Description of Senior Thesis:
The modern industrial society is characterized by an aimless circle of working in pursuit of money and meaning. Since there is no objective threshold to these goals, they will never be satisfied, trapping many in “the rat race.” To end this aimless, monotonous cycle, a mindset change is required: whether one is meant for a 9-to-5 corporate work life, unable to break out of this lifestyle and unhappy with the system, or living outside of the system, existential emptiness can only be filled by purpose in God.

Plans: To attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and study costume design and production for film

Favorite Bible Verse:
“My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42: 5-6

Prayer Request:
That the Lord will take me where I need to be and that I’ll get there quickly. Also for my parents and loved ones, to ease the transition.
