Favorite WA tradition:
My favorite Westminster tradition is field day. While field day is a part of most elementary schools, it is not a part of most high schools. I enjoy the ability to interact with different grades in different houses. I love the spirit of fun…until it came to flag football and tug-of-war, of course. It’s fun to get to interact with people I wouldn’t normally interact with and simply enjoy my time with them.
What advice or encouragement would you give to younger students at Westminster?
I know it’s cheesy, but there is always a bright side. My time at Westminster has had it’s ups and downs, but I know when I chose to focus on how overwhelmed and stressed I was, it tended to make me spiral and fall further into distress. There will always be a light: just because the sun sets doesn’t mean its gone. Plus if it were always daytime–all “sunshine and rainbows”– we would never be able to glimpse the stars. Even if the positive, beautiful, fun things are elusive, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Please share a funny memory or highlight from your time at Westminster:
I have many fun memories from my time here, from playing spoons with Ms. Hollidge, Isaac and some friends in his grade on Grandparents Day, to Protocol and how the spirit of the night made every dance fun and exciting.
Senior Thesis Title: Feminism: Where Are We Now?
Senior Thesis Statement:
Feminism was once a noble fight, but what was once noble has twisted Godly truths and replaced them with self-created truths.
Brief Description of Senior Thesis:
My senior thesis approaches the well known idea of feminism and how it has led to women’s God-given purpose being exchanged for moldable truths, resulting in further brokenness.
Plans:
To attend Middle Tennessee State University and study Biochemistry
Favorite Bible Verse:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiahh 41:10
Prayer Request:
Please pray that I am able to transition easily into college life and find Godly friends. I also need God’s help in being diligent in my studies 🙂
